If you look at the Page Elements sub-section under the Templates tab, you will see a schematic diagram of the main page elements of each page of your blog.
To remove features like the date, time, signature etc from each post, you need to edit the Blog Posts page element, by clicking on Edit in the bottom right corner of the Blog Posts box. This opens the Configure Blog Posts dialog.

Make sure that all the checkboxes are UNCHECKED to ensure that these features do not appear on the pages of your blog.
Making the navigation system
We want to create a simple navigation for our site, consisting of a list of links in the sidebar on each page, linking to the different pages in the site. To achieve this, we need to add a Link List to the template.
Select Add a Page Element to open the Choose a New Page Element dialog.

Add a Link List to your blog, by clicking the Add to Blog button under Link List. This opens the Configure Link List dialog.

Filling out this dialog proved to be a bit tricky in class. Basically, what you are doing, is generating the list of links that will appear on each page of your blog, and act as the navigation system for your site.
Title refers to a title for your list. In our case, we are not giving our navigation system a title, so just leave this blank. Leave Number of Links to Show blank as well, since we want to show them all. Don't mess with the Sorting setting either - we will sort them into order later.
The important parts of this dialog are the New Site URL and the New Site Name fields. These are simply the places where you put the URL of the page you want each link to link to, and the text that you want to appear in the sidebar as the link. So, for your CV page, for example, you will put the URL of your CV page into New Site URL, and just "CV" into New Site Name.
To learn how to get the URL of a particular page on your site, have a look here.
When you have filled in the New Site URL and New Site Name fields for the first item in the list, click the Add Link button. This will add your link to the list (it appears at the bottom of the dialog), and clears the New Site URL and New Site Name fields for you to add the URL and name for the next link.
You repeat this little cycle of filling in the New Site URL and New Site Name fields and clicking the Add Link button until you have created all the links you want to have in your navigation system.

When you have all your links, you can re-order them by using the up and down arrows that appear beside them at the bottom of the Configure Link List dialog. When they have all been created, and are in the order you require, cick the Save Changes button to close the dialog and create the link list on your pages.
